Sometimes I'm Not Brave

I'm really not I'm really not afraid of much at all

But...sometimes silhouettes will sweep the wall

or an unfamiliar noise somewhere outside

Will bring to mind the places shadows hide.

I'm really very brave and seldom scared

Except when something's gone that should be there

Or something's there that really shouldn't be

I'm really quite courageous, you can see

​

But for those times that I'm not really sure

If there's been a motion of the closet door

I have a faithful friend at my command

Who chases every Shade from Shadowland

​

Those times, as I have said, are very rare

But it's always nice to know my friend is there.
